SHAHID KHAN AFRIDI ANNOUNCED RETIREMENT FROM INTERNATIONAL CRICKET

31 years old Shahid Afridi developed differences with Waqar Younis during the team’s 3-2 win against West Indies earlier this month and his public criticism of the coach ultimately led to him losing the captaincy. Now he announced on Monday that he is retiring from all international cricket.

I play for my country and for my people, he said. I led the team to the semi final of the world cup but the reward was such that I was not sure about my captaincy. Afridi said his decision of retirement is final.
