Muttiah Muralitharan

Muttiah Muralitharan was born on 17 April 1972. He is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who was rated the greatest Test match bowler ever by Wisden Cricketers' Almanack in 2002. He retired from Test cricket on 22 July 2010, registering 800^th and final wicket from his final ball in his last test match. Muralitharan is the highest wicket-taker in both Test cricket (800 wickets) and in One Day Internationals (534 wickets). He has also taken 13 wickets in T20I matches. Averaging over six wickets per Test, Muralitharan was one of the most successful bowlers in the game.

Muralitharan's career has been beset with controversy; his bowling action called into question on a number of occasions by umpires and sections of the cricket community. After biomechanical analysis under simulated playing conditions, Muralitharan's action was cleared by the International Cricket Council, first in 1996 and again in 1999.

Warushavithana Upul Tharanga, commonly known as Upul Tharanga is a Sri Lankan cricketer. He is a left-handed opening batsman and wicketkeeper.

Tillakaratne Dilshan

Tillakaratne Mudiyanselage Dilshan is a Sri Lankan cricketer and captain of the Sri Lanka national cricket team since April 2011. He was born on October 14, 1976 in Kalutara, Sri Lanka. He has been a member of the team since November 1999. He is an aggressive right-hand batsman and also a capable in spin bowler, his off breaks are mostly used in the one-day arena. T.M. Dilshan won the award of Twenty20 International Performance of the Year at the 2009 ICC Awards for his 96 off 57 balls against West Indies in the semi-final of the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 in England. He also won man of the series trophy for his individual batting performances in the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 tournament. He has scored 12, 10 and 1 centuries in Tests, ODIs and T20I respectively.

Kumar Sangakkara

Kumar Sangakkara is a Sri Lankan cricketer and the former captain of the Sri Lanka national cricket team. He was born on 27 October 1977, Matale, Sri Lanka. He is a left-handed top-order batsman. He used to play as a wicket-keeper and top-order batsman. He was ranked as the number 1 Test batsman in the world several times during his career. Following the world cup defeat to India he has since stepped down from the captaincy. He has scored 25 and 11 centuries in Tests and ODIs respectively.
